About the Artist

Adrienne Hodge is an interdisciplinary artist living, working, and teaching in Austin, Texas. Among her strongest influences, she cites particle physics, dadaism, psychology, neuroscience, and early photography processes.

Artist Statement

I am attempting to illustrate the transparent layers of consciousness within a dream. I use primarily calligraphy ink on large watercolor and printmaking paper to interlace an asemic lexicon I have developed over the last several years with symbolic liminal imagery. This often wordless content is the closest I’ve come to touching the inexplicable signposts that reoccur in my waking and dreaming life.
