Aileen is a painter, nurse, and mother residing in Austin, TX. Her work is heavily influenced by the surrounding Texas hill country just outside of the city. Aileen emphasizes soft textures and blurred lines to create meaningful, serene scenes that ground you in nature.

I've found that the artwork I want to create stems from a desire to go through the motions of a particular technique. My creative process of switching between watery layers and a dry brush technique to slowly, and organically, build a landscape feels sacred. It's been my attempt to translate human pain into a scene of quiet beauty, and believe the connection to nature grounds us all.
