About the Artist

As a native Austinite, I have always had a passion for the arts including dance, music, and painting. In college I chose a different dream to follow and earned my BS in Biomedical Science followed by my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University. Even while pursuing other life aspirations, my passion for being creative continued through drawing and painting. It was recently after encouragement from close friends that I decided to be brave and share with you my other passion: my art. As a self-taught artist, I love exploring different mediums and am currently focused on watercolor and acrylic, incorporating collage as well as embroidery into many of my newer pieces. My art is exploration - of mediums, emotions, limits. Thank you for your support as I continue to push and explore myself through my artwork.

Artist Statement

My work is an eclectic expression of emotions through nature, femininity, and colors. Much of my artwork is inspired by women. I choose a woman's image based on emotions that she evokes and after she is chosen I let her speak to me. As I transfer her image, she will tell me her name, her aura, her emotions, and I try to bring all of it to life. I believe highlighting our differences helps us see the beauty in individuality. All women should be seen and loved. Other aspects of my work include inspiration from Austin's beautiful surrounding Texas hill country. I combine images of native wildlife with my own emotional experiences in order to try to create a connection of shared feelings while being inspired and appreciative of beauty that surrounds us. This series of my work also includes simple images of Texas flora and fauna.
