Artist Statement
In my recent work I explore the theme of environment as inspiration. This collection is a culmination of experiences expressed in figurative form. I use bold color, lines and simple shapes to evoke the state of emotional harmony and longing for new places. My work is influenced by hiking trips in nature and embracing the surrounding and tranquility around me. I paint using in oils and use a combination of brushes and palette knife, as well as using pastels and pencil on paper. Each painting or drawing is a short meditation, approached intuitively to seek and find connection with distant places in the present moment in time.
