About the Artist

I am from Newport NH, born a twin there in 1965. Attended public schools and was fortunate to have a wonderful Art teacher. Went to Keene State College there and quickly lost my desire to study drafting , and immersed myself for five years in study with several awesome professors of ART. Graduating,I apprenticed with J.Marshall my sculpture professor as his studio/personal assistant. In 1991 an interest in choreography and movement led me to Austin for 4 months, we stayed 6 and came back in 1995 for good. Since 1999 Ive been working at the Splinter Groups two locations (for the most part),after Hawkeye Glenn introduced me to the boys. My first dusty studio has given way to other more civilized accomadations,, where i still produce lots of strong work!. Ive also ,fortunately, forged a strong alliance with Prizer Gallery and Carrie Kenny, and have produced several well received exhibitions of original work!Ive been awarded a FullFellowship to the Vermont Studio Center, and nominated by AustinChronicle for Best Solo exhibition/visual arts..

Artist Statement

A predisposition to paint ,solitude, and a physically manifesting a parallel symbol - being, have led me down this strange path of Art and Painting. Ive been fortunate to find meaningful support at the right moments, and found value, also, in the empty moments-just like the empty parts of a composition are essential. Some folks get it, some folks dont, my goal is to be happy with what i do for myself, and if others like it, all the better.
