Baron Rinehart Wilson is a painter, teacher and visual artist in Austin, Texas. He is a native of Midland, Texas. He is a descendant of the American artist William Henry Rinehart (1825 -1874) an acclaimed figurative sculptor working in the classical tradition.
He studied both fine art and architectural design while in college. In 1983, he earned an Associate of Art degree at Midland College and received a Bachelor of Architecture degree at Texas Tech University in 1986.
Baron currently produces original paintings and works of art that utilize a variety of mediums from graphite and colored pencil to watercolor, gouache, acrylic & oil paintings on paper and canvas. Subjects range from Texas regional landscapes, still-life, abstracts and architectural landmarks to figurative work and portraits. He also teaches drawing and painting in group classes and private lessons.
Baron's fine art paintings are displayed in numerous private & corporate collections.
Artist Statement
My paintings are a direct reflection of my relationship with the natural beauty of the world beginning with my native West Texas and expanding from there. My formal education and professional training in architecture informs my attention to materials, textures, and color with an appropriate degree of detail all composed within the context of light, shade and shadow.
