Christina Moser primarily works with airbrush, creating within a liminal landscape of surrealism and digital aesthetics. Moser's design background greatly influences her process, jumping between digital and physical. Her work examines ambiguity and transitional space(s), with the suggestion of spirituality. Color plays an important role in its ability to evoke mood through subtle shifts. In addition to her practice, Christina is the lead designer and web developer at the nonprofit Big Medium.
Artist Statement
Being a person in this topsy turvy world of the last couple years has turned me towards contrasts. This work expands upon an ongoing investigation into the wonder of mysterious objects. In our current landscape concepts like mystery and ambiguity often times inspire an anxious distress in people. I strive to create spaces in which a calm and relief can be found within the uncertain. I find a soothing unease, an attempt to be calm in a structure that appears impossible. A bit of relief where there is mystery and uncertainty.
