About the Artist

Serious Art. Serious Faith. CIVA and St. David's Episcopal Church engage in the powerful conversations where art and faith meet. We invite you to join us in that meaningful encounter.

Artist Statement

"Beauty awakens the soul to act." Dante AlighieriCIVA and St. David's Episcopal Church have partnered together to bring two exceptional exhibitions and one entire Ikon Chapel installation to the downtown community for the month of November. St. David’s has a long and rich history in Austin. When CIVA began looking for the perfect aesthetically significant space in which to install these collections, St. David's was immediately recognized as the location. It is through ecumenical partnerships such as this that has nurtured art to thrive in the most bleak of atmospheres. It is genuine beauty that awakens us, stirs us, moves us into something more important than ourselves. CIVA's mission resides in three areas: development of artists, a presence in society, and devotion to the church.
