About the Artist

Photography is a combination of technique and an artistic vision of life from a particular viewpoint. Being creative artistically, for me, is an important, life affirming force, driving my efforts in this regard. Photography gives me a sense of purpose. It’s a meditation of sorts. It’s my Zen. I love photography and love the idea of capturing a moment of life as I see it or would like to see it. Bit by bit. One shot at a time.

Artist Statement

I have a passion for photography and my photographic ambitions walk hand in hand with my wanderlust. The two cravings function as my “modus operandi.” I’ve noticed the logistics of getting the shot I have in my mind are often discordant with my need to find Zen or inner peace. Luckily, I find photography to be a bit of a Zen activity anyway. The payoff of a well placed image is the objective. So along the the way I stop and sit. I listen and watch, breathe and try to shake off the noise of the moment. Of course, the trash bin on my computer is full of failed attempts to catch that frame and the clutter in my mind may remain, but that’s part of the process. Eventually something that works will turn up. Exactly like so many other examples in life, hard work, persistence and patience are key to success and in my opinion, also vital are caring about the creative process and never giving up the idea that creativity is the stuff we are made of.
