About the Artist
I completed a BA in Art History from Columbia University and an MFA in Photography at the San Francisco Art Institute, and my work has been exhibited widely, both individually and in collaboration with the Lakes Were Rivers Collective. I have taught theory and photography at The University of Texas at Austin, Texas State University, St. Edward's, and Southwestern University for many years. My work is in the collections of Dell Children's Hospital, Google and the LINE among others.
My research involves questions around spirituality, consciousness, perception, the physicality of light, plants, and the history of art, especially the history of photography. The resulting work reflects what I see as the collaborative nature of image making as I relate and connect to the environment and bend the plasticity of photography to match my lived experience.
