James Parker is an artist based in Austin, TX. James' work has been presented internationally and has been in residence at Can Serrat and the Atlantic Center for the Arts. He holds a degrees from Ithaca College and the University of Texas at Austin.
James's work examines the boundaries between humanity, the natural world, and technology. His practice encompasses music performance pieces, sound installations, collage, and algorithmically visual pieces, both static and animated. Using big data, human improvisation, and computer based randomness generators, James' work seeks to question how we use technology in our every day lives by contrasting the technological and humane.
