About the Artist

Jason Ice is a professional designer and artist living and working in Austin since 2010. You can see his design work driving down many roads in Austin, Texas and his fine art on the wall of it's residents. In 2021 he is trying to navigate an ever growing city focused on tech and murals. There is a drive inside him to excel and there is no limit. He has been known to say, "the devil made me do it".

Artist Statement

This body of work is a combination of drawing and simplified technical work mixed with a dreamy experiment with acrylic and spray paint. As a child I was very interested in architecture and perspective drawing and as I grew I was fascinated like many with how spray paint can be used in so many ways applying it. These pieces also were mostly created leading up to and during the first half of the quarantine and they became places that I imagined escaping to. The process in all of my work leans heavily on layering and the way textures, finishes and colors will interact with each other. I am currently working on updated processes and experimenting with being more loose with the works, but those are in progress and will be ready for viewing at the studio tour this year, 2021
