Artist Statement
The artistic journey, for me, began at Rice University with a course in photography. A camera, black & white film, and the darkroom opened a window into the creative process. Afterwards, I attended art studio courses at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Since completing visual art studies, my current subject matter is nature and the feminine form. The mediums utilized are mono-printing, eco-printing and etching on aluminum, paper, fabric and leather. Often the results yield unexpected outcomes, almost an alchemical experience that makes each piece unique.
