Lucy MacQueen is a landscape artist who has shown locally for over 15 years. She primarily focuses on the movement of water. By working with viscous acrylics, polarizing solvents to separate colors, and heat to manipulate these materials, she achieves a playful and evocative exploration of water's texture and color.
Artist Statement
A lot has happened since the last show and I wanted to reflect some of these changes in in my work. For example, when global travel shut down, nature was given a chance to heal; polluted water became clean, fish were seen in Venice, the air cleared and vistas that hadn't been seen for decades became visible.
My newer pieces reflect my fervent hope that we will build on this regeneration and find ways to keep our beautiful globe healthy for future generations.
