Artist Statement
I create 3-D works in steel finding inspiration in the bountiful variety of our native Texas plants. Recreating delicate flowers in the impenetrable medium of steel fascinates me and informs my art. I design flowers of various shapes and sizes ranging from single stem roses to large bouquets, agaves and other succulents, and vertical gardens. Patinas applied over fabric stencils have been a new area of exploration. Recently I’ve expanded my work to kinetic sculptures in primary colors inspired by the work of Alexander Calder.
