About the Artist

Sarah Sheppard was born and raised in Dallas Texas. She studied Fine art, graphic design and photography at The University of North Texas and Parsons School of Design. In 2006 she moved from Texas to Florida, where she started a business doing Venetian Plaster, Murals and Faux Finishing, experiencing a great sense of satisfaction transforming a once sparse white room, into a space with character and ambience.

Sarah soon went on to paint large exterior murals for local business around the St. Petersburg area which also lead to commissioned work from The American Heart Association, AARP and Harley Davidson of Tampa.

Ms. Sheppard moved back to Texas in 2017 and discovered a new outlet for her creativity in metal-smithing. She continues to build her portfolio with murals and canvas artwork while also discovering the world of Jewelry making.

Artist Statement

My artwork is inspired by my life and the beauty of the surrounding world. I love the designs and craftsmanship of the past so some of my imagery is sourced from varied historical motifs and symbolism. Arranging images into shapes and patterns is a fascinating process of discovery for me and also quit meditative. Using multiple materials such as paper, metal, paint, wood and resin allows me to be playful in the creative process, adding layers and depth to my work. My goal is to convey a sense of beauty, romanticism, and mysticism.
