About the Artist

After completing a bachelors in Art and Design at Texas State University, I returned to gain my teaching certification. I have been creating abstract paintings for almost 10 years now while also teaching middle school art in the surrounding areas.

Artist Statement

As an artist, my work is primarily abstract with an emphasis on contrasting colors. I usually begin by applying paint directly onto the canvas from the tube, using different tools to manipulate the paint. As the colors blend and dry, new colors are layered to create either high or low contrast, depending on the mood of the day. Paintings are often rotated 90 or 180 degrees to allow the viewer a brand new experience and perspective. Each work tells its own story, which is left open for unique interpretations.
