We Speak for The Trees

About the Artist

TreeGarden is Cultivating Collaborative Community through Nature + Education + Art + Wellness + Outreach.

Artist Statement

We Speak for The Trees is a creative collaboration of 44 artists, celebrating the life-giving gifts of trees and offering gratitude for Nature’s vital connection to the human experience. Just as trees in a forest communicate and collaborate with each other to create a cooperative community that nurtures the wellness of the whole forest and its future, TreeGarden is dedicated to creatively cultivating collaborative community. This collaborative exhibition honors the memory of the beautiful Sycamore tree at TreeGarden that was cut down by the power company. Each artist will explore our essential connection to Nature through their unique creation on a piece of wood from the Sycamore. To thank the trees, this creative collaboration will benefit TreeGarden’s non-profit partner, Forests for Monarchs, and support their meaningful mission to preserve and protect the precious forest habitat of the Monarch butterflies.Forests for Monarchs plants trees in the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve in Mexico, and supports the local community through education, outreach, and a sustainable livelihood supported by good forest stewardship. In addition to art on display, We Speak For The Trees opening event on November 13th, 2021 will feature many exciting, interactive art opportunities for visitors including:- Collaborative Community Mural Project- Save Our Species ArtVenture Trail with Juliet Whitsett- Create a Coil Pot project with Rebecca Molnar- Make Music with The Trees with Joe Mach- AND Live Art demonstrations by 15 ArtistsPARTICIPATING ARTISTS: Rosemary AllenJuan VillegasDeLoné OsbyDarryl Demps JR.Camille Lema Juliet Whitsett Cameron GraysonAmanda WituckiJustin HaggertyDaddy OtisWolf GardenMarcelo Villaseñor Marcella ColavecchioAshton GuyBrandon Munley Terry SnowSarah SnowRebecca Molnar David LoydKelsey Archbold Red Moth David MunozTiffany RankinLaine MontgomeryTommy NeinaberKwanzaa EdwardsCurtis GriffinKirby BrandonTopher SipesSarah FarahShelby ElizabethRobin London Minita CheshireAlondra AcostaChristian HaileMaggie Parsons-HaileNatalie EarheartJ.C.
