Greta Olivas

About the Artist

Greta Olivas is an abstract artist working in acrylic and mixed media based in Austin Texas. She describes her work as stories, energy or emotions that come through to the canvas. Some may resemble celestial bodies, but to her, they are a bigger understanding of the universe & our place within it. When someone states they felt a painting, or it provokes emotion, she knows she successfully transmitted the energy.

Artist Statement

I tell people that I wonder if my personal growth helps me create my art, or if my art helps me with my personal growth. I think the answer is Yes to both. I feel that I have learned so much about life and I'm still constantly learning, so I want to share it with everyone, either through my paintings or teaching. My art is about emotions and energy, so I hope I reach the viewer at an energetic level. The titles of my pieces are an introduction to the viewer, and I hope as they study the painting it challenges them to feel their response. I definitely see a bigger picture of the world and I think I share that through my art.
