Artist Statement
Cheyenne Weaver is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily in sculpture and drawing. Her recent work addresses the anxieties of living on the precipice of drastic change and the disruption of normative hierarchy. Her use of natural materials, stains, and plants are methods for building Place and revealing histories that may have been white-washed or forgotten. The work points to an existential rupture of categories and the radical potential in mutation.
