Suzanne Wyss is a multi-disciplinary artist focusing on large scale installation and sculpture, transforming industrial materials into organic forms. With a BFA and an MFA in Sculpture, she is now going back to school at UT for her masters in Landscape Architecture to work larger and more in tune with nature then ever before. Since becoming a Texan in 2013 her most notable works are a permanent installation at Thinkery ATX, an installation for the Facebook Artist in Residence Program, having a sculpture featured in the Dimension Gallery Sculpture park and soon to have a site specific permanent installation at Springdale General.
My body of work reflects the forest of my mind, growing one species at a time. Inspired by my surroundings, I am driven to fill the boxes we inhabit with the untamed, bringing the outside movement to the inside. They mimic the essence of nature while carrying the history and evidence of humanity. The source and history of the recycled materials become part of the is-ness of the sculpture and bridges unfamiliar forms with known elements. A human-made past in a human-made nature - it's the world we live in.
