In my work, I investigate the layering of color, shape, and line as they contribute to our interpretation of depth, movement, and beauty. Often described as a colorist, my work is also about finding the light. My chosen medium is acrylic and I am currently creating abstract imagery.
Drawing from memories, moods and the paint combinations on my palette, I start with a loose composition, which I cover, layer, remove, repaint and cover again, transforming the piece through many layers and stages. Working through this searching process, I create multi-layered vistas that at times can be reminiscent of things familiar and I am currently striving to make mark making more central to my imagery.
